El artículo recoge la explicación mitológica del yagé en diversas culturas indígenas colombianas (Siona, Tucano, Uitoto, Inga, Desana, Sikuani) y expone sorprendentes relatos de viajes donde se actúa con potencia de vida.</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong> </p><p>Yage or ayahuasca (<em>Banisteriopsis caapi</em>) is the shamanic plant of Indian societies of the Amazon region, which allows seeing the totality of the cosmos, whether material or immaterial. It is a sacred plant, an enteogen ("God-inside") that propitiates in the shaman a demiurgic power and allows him even to live in mythological spaces in order to act over health and future. Its action is not imaginative, it does not correspond to "dream generation" states or to "mental metaphors": "It is pure reality".
