Abstract

The Gold Museum's Educational Services area has invented the board game "Guatavita!” with a view to confronting a problem with Colombian culture that was detected some time ago: the pre-Columbian past is seen as a mythical, static era, one where there was no variation. Players can go back to three different and contrasting points in that past: the first settlers, one day 12,000 years ago; the first farmers, 3,000 years ago; and the chieftainships of 600 years ago. This experience and all the vicissitudes associated with it stress the fact that archaeology needs to find communication channels that will get its heritage and identity message across to a wide audience in the fields of education and national culture.

Descripción del juego
ER -
